IEP WRITING WORKSHOP
I've done this workshop many times at PS 54 in Queens when I was the school's IEP teacher but somehow teachers need occasional review or follow ups to make sure that IEPs are written well. IEPs are not just meant for educators. More importantly, it is meant for parent and other care givers.
AIM: This workshop will help teachers learn or review how to write a well planned, relevant, and parent friendly IEPs. Participants will have a deeper understanding of the content of the IEP that will help users implement its mandates accordingly.
INTENDED AUDIENCE: All teachers, paraprofessionals, administrators, and other providers.

DESCRIPTION: This 90-minute workshop is tailored for everyone who may need just a review on how to write IEP goals that are Specific-Measurable-Attainable-Realistic- (and) Timely. Also, this workshop can be for general education teachers and administrators who have students with IEPs. A proficient understanding of the students' IEP can make instructions more purposeful. This workshop will include a brief background, mandates, and trends in special ed. Participants will take with them an IEP Writing booklet that summarizes the session.
