I check homework everyday. The math homework is what they learned that day in math.  The reading homework given on Mondays, Read and Respond Journal, addresses the skills taught that week. I check them everyday to show the students and their parents  that I am serious about homework.  I believe doing homework helps the child learn values that no amount of fictional tales or biographys can teach.  Patience, perseverance, and feeling of joy and fullfilment after finishing a homework is something they encounter everytime they do their homework.  Teachers, though, have to their part, give feedback right away.
